Plot
Portrays three people as they live on the islands of Lake Toya in Hokkaido, Hachijojima in Tokyo, and Dojima in Osaka. Maki lives near Lake Toya, and has lived as a “woman” ever since her daughter passed away. Meanwhile, Makoto is a cattle herder living on Hachijojima who is confounded when his daughter comes home pregnant. And, Reiko visits her hometown of Dojima for the funeral of her former boyfriend.
